MUSA scarl has highlighted the work of GraphiCore, the Politecnico di Milano spin-off developing robotic gripping solutions for graphite-moderated reactor decommissioning, in a feature article exploring the origins and goals of the project.
In graphite-moderated reactor decommissioning, human intervention is limited and control must be absolute, conditions that led CTO and co-founder Fabio Vanoni to found GraphiCore with the aim of enabling operations that traditional technologies cannot safely manage. The company develops robotic gripping hands designed for high-criticality environments, delivering the precision, reliability, and operational continuity needed to make robotics an enabling technology for safety and efficiency in complex industrial processes. The project was previously recognized at StartCup Lombardia 2025, receiving the Sustainability and Innovation Award for combining industrial safety with sustainable design. MUSA scarl noted its role in supporting the growth of advanced technologies by connecting research and enterprise, helping build an innovation ecosystem capable of generating concrete impact, an approach reflected in its continued support for GraphiCore’s development.
