The GraphiCore team:
nuclear engineers before entrepreneurs

GraphiCore was founded by three people with first-hand experience of the irradiated graphite challenge, from research at Politecnico di Milano to work with international nuclear institutions.

CEO & Founder

Riccardo
Chebac

Riccardo Chebac, CEO and Founder, GraphiCore team

Riccardo holds a PhD from the STEN doctoral programme at Politecnico di Milano, focused on the decommissioning and waste management of graphite-moderated nuclear reactors, with research conducted in collaboration with
UC Berkeley.

He first addressed the irradiated graphite challenge through the European Inno4Graph project and worked with the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency and as an external consultant before turning that research into GraphiCore.

CTO & Founder

Fabio
Vanoni

Fabio Vanoni, CTO and Founder, GraphiCore team

Research fellow at Politecnico di Milano, Fabio leads the technical development of the end-effector, from vacuum gripper mechanics to experimental validation.

He worked alongside Riccardo during his PhD on the decommissioning of graphite-moderated nuclear reactors, bringing that experience into GraphiCore’s technology development. During his fellowship, he also worked on reactor simulations and as a freelance software developer in the field of radiation protection.
